Domestic violence is increasingly being seen as an important issue in LGBTIQ communities. As information about LGBTIQ domestic violence increases, the demands on a wide range of services will also increase.

Services such as the police and courts, domestic violence and sexual assault services, women's health centres, general health services and LGBTIQ community groups are all likely to experience a growth in demand.

These pages are designed to help workers and services better understand LGBTIQ domestic violence and therefore provide the best possible help and support to LGBTIQ people and their friends and families.

Information, reading and upcoming events are updated regularly. For the latest conferences, events and updates check our blog.

ACON and the LGBTIQ Domestic Violence Interagency, have produced a number of resources on LGBTIQ domestic violence, these resources are available to download here, on the ACON website or you can use the resource order form to request hard copies to be sent to you.
